Gracious and merciful Father, You love us into being and call us into mission. Jesus, our Savior, taught us that the lamp of discipleship must be visible rather than hidden, that the measure with which we measure will be measured out to us, that what we do or fail to do for others, we do or fail to do for Him. Bless the Diocese of Evansville, united throughout its twelve counties in Southwest Indiana. May we seek to know and embrace Your will in all things, striving to be who and what we claim to be as the Church, the Body of Christ. Grant us courage, humility and generosity to be more effective witnesses of mercy, justice and peace. Renew in us the missionary spirit entrusted to the Church to be stewards of Your grace and blessings through time, talent and treasure. May Your Holy Spirit guide and strengthen us as intentional disciples of Your Son through Word, Sacrament and Service. We ask this of You through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, now and forever, Amen. Mary, Mother of God, pray for us!
We have before us an extraordinary opportunity. There are occasions in parish life to come together as one on behalf of the greater good of all. Our shared parish-diocesan capital campaign, Stewards of God's Grace, is one of those events. Annunciation Parish has made special arrangements with our diocese regarding our participating in the shared parish-diocesan fundraising effort. Due to the anticipated costs to address all the projects we are setting our fundraising target at $2,324,000. This will allow us to make much needed improvements on both campuses and will bolster support for the ministries of our diocese, serving our 12 counties. Strong parishes make for a strong diocese.

DIOCESE OF EVANSVILLE & ANNUNCIATION PARISH, EVANSVILLE
Capital Campaign Target $2,324,000
Parish Portion $1,670,445
Diocesan Portion $653,555
This campaign will allow us to make needed improvements not only at our own parish, but will bolster support for the ministries of our diocese, that serve all 12 counties. The target amount for our parish to raise over the three-year life of this campaign is $2,324,000. This is roughly twice our annual offertory spread out over three years. This means that $1,670,445 will be available for us to address our own projects. This is a great opportunity for us to come together, on behalf of the greater good of our parish and our diocese. Strong parishes make for a strong diocese.
Based on feedback from parishioners, our parish leadership and an independent contracting firm, below are our most pressing needs and the estimated cost of each project. Unless a specific campus is mentioned, the project is for both campuses.
|Cafeteria grease traps||$30,000|
|Boiler replacement at Christ the King||$175,000|
|Parking lot repaving at Holy Spirit Church||$70,000|
|Schools restroom renovation||$80,000|
|Rest room in rear of Holy Spirit Church||$48,000|
|Special Ed classroom renovations||$25,000|
|Street side signage||$21,700|
Should we be so blessed as to surpass our target above, the balance of projects is listed below in priority order.
|Holy Spirit School Water Fountains||$2,500|
|Tree trim and removal||$8,000|
|Preschool smartboard at Christ the King||$2,000|
|New basketball goals at Holy Spirit||$3,000|
As a family of faith, I have no doubt that we can, with this fundraising effort, surpass our target and raise the funds necessary to bring our campuses into the 21st century. They are valid projects for the care of our children and the future of our Church. Others before us came together and provided for the needs of our parish community. This is now our opportunity.
I want to thank everyone in advance for your support of the Stewards of God's Grace Capital Campaign. This campaign will make a real difference on both the parish and diocesan levels. Each of our gifts in support of this effort can collectively transform our parish and our diocese. And so, I ask you to prayerfully consider making your generous gift, for the greater good of all.
